Sir John Lawrence Langman, 1st Bt.K.G.St.J., equipped and maintained the
Langman Field Hospital during the S.African War (despatches Queens
medal with three clasps) b. 24 June 1846; created a Baronet 21 July
1906; m. 17 Sept.1868 Mary Hannah (d. 13 June 1904) dau of James Marks
of London and had (with a dau, Edith Mary, d. an infant 15 Nov 1870) an
only son, Archibald Lawrence (Sir) 2nd Bt. C.M.G. (1902) DL and J.P.
Somerset (High Sheriff 1938) Major North Somerset Yeo and Middlesex
Yeo, O.St.J. served with Langman’s Hosp. in S.African War 1899-1900
(despatches CMG Queens medal with three clasps) b. 2 Sept 1872; m. 5
Jan. 1904 o Hon Eleanor Katherine Lyell (North Cadbury Court, Somerset,
Balintore, Lintrathen, Angus), dau of 1st Baron Lyell, and had issue...
