I do have information on your Mabel Passineau but her name is Maybelle in my
family research. She was married to Roy John Passineau Sr. who was born on
20Sept. 1908 in a log cabin near Rudolph, WI. Roy was one of fifteen
childrenborn to Charles Passineau & Martha Isabelle Daly. Martha had 21
pregnancies.
At the age of 16, Roy went to work for Consolidated. In 1926, he took up
flying and in 1928, went into the air force. He returned to Wisconsin
Rapids, where he operated Roy’s News Stand on 1st Street South. In 1931 he
married Maybelle Zimmerman, daughter of Edward and Anna Zimmerman of Sparta.
Ed & Anna’s children were Cora, Blanche, Maybelle, Henry, & Dominic.
Maybelle and Roy had onechild Patricia Millicent who was born/died 23 Oct,
1931 (stillborn). The only other information it has is that they were
divorced a few years after the death of Patricia, but not the date. In
1932, Roy opened a restaurant on Oak Street. Then he moved to Sparta where
he worked on the construction of Camp McCoy. He also worked on the army
base on Guam. Roy did remarry on 19 Feb, 1944 to Alyce Louise Olsen so it
had to be prior to that. Roy died 30 Jan, 1993 at the VA hospital in Madison
Wisconsin. I do have more information on Roy between1944 and 1993 if you
are interested.
The last name is French and used to bePinsonneau but along the way got
changed to Passineau. The Passineau’s came from Quebec, Canada about the
1820’s but have been traced back to the 1600’s.
